Free Set of Brush Strokes →
All you have to do to get the resources is head over to the page at Vandelay Premier, add the item to your cart and enter “freebiepromo” in the discount code field. The free resources come with the standard Vandelay Premier license, which allows for use on personal and commercial projects, including use on items that will be re-distributed (like templates and themes).

Browse — Simple Desktops →
Great resource for desktops that are very simple but still fun. Us designers can’t handle busy backgrounds.

Contained Sticky Scroll - JQuery Plugin →
It’s best to just check out the demo at this link. Basically, you can have a side bar element stay with the user as they scroll down the page, reading your blog post, viewing your items, browsing your portfolio. Pretty schweet.

The Web Font Combinator →
Chip has created a pretty sweet font combinator to preview web font combinations. Currently it only uses fonts supplied by the Google Font Directory and common system fonts — but I think it’s a great start! :)

July Wallpapers
Though 2 weeks late, I just discovered Smashing Magazine’s July wallpaper collection. Some very amusing/phenomenal desktop backgrounds are available, and it seems that they do this every month. I’m going to have to keep an eye out for it. :)

FireFTP -- WOW!
I hate FTP Clients. Majorly. For the most part, when I can get away with it, I use Explorer (not IE) on windows to upload files to various sites. My main reason for this dislike? Paying. I can’t seem to find a good FTP client that allows me to simply do what I want when I need to without constant reminders of “Oh, hey, this is free—but could ya pay us anyways?!” Ugh. Well...

The Yahoo! User Interface Library (YUI) →
While I really don’t like Yahoo!, and rarely ever use their services, this area of their developer’s network was brought to my attention a couple of days ago. There is a decent library of tools and widgets for web designers and developers looking to simplify their lives. Things like foundation CSS Tools to reset all styles, fonts, etc. It’s a very interesting area that...
